Tres Hombres - ZZ Top

From the opening tracks of "Waitin' for the bus" and "Jesus just left Chicago", ZZ Top blazes new tex-mex rock territory.

"La Grange" is still one of their best Rockers today and lesser known songs like "Master of sparks", "Precious and Grace" make it one of best of all time!

When the "little ole band from Texas" opened for Hendrix, he just said (about Billy Gibbons) "This guy's better than me."

Pink Floyd - Wish you were here

With the opening four notes of "Shine on You Crazy Diamond", Pink Floyd creates a haunting tribute to ex-band member Syd Barret. Continuing with other songs like "Welcome to the Machine","Have a cigar" and "Wish you were here" make this one of the greatest concept albums of all time.

Led Zepplin IV

The record starts out with Plant belting out

"Hey hey mama said the way you move

Gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove"

Then Page's smokin' guitar kicks in followed by the best Rock drummer in the world, Bonham. And then there's "Stairway to Heaven" one of the greatest rockers of all time.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Street Survivors

They were already a great band before Steve Gaines, with songs like "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Free Bird". Steve just addded another texture to thier sound. From blues to bluegrass, Gaines vocals and guitar playing make this Skynyrd's best recording!

Some notable highlights are :

  • "I Know a Little"
  • "You Got That Right"
  • "I Never Dreamed"
  • "Ain't No Good Life"

The Who - Who's Next

The album has some of thier best rockers,"Baba O'Riley" aka "Teenage Wasteland, "Bargain" and my favorite Who song "Won't Get Fooled Again". Their best ballad "Behind Blue Eyes" is also on the album.
